Infinity Universe - The Quest for Earth

Some games are just fun. Some games are just visually beautiful. But some games push the boundaries for everything. These games reinvent whole genres and brings a title that will be remembered and copied for years to come. I believe that Infinity is going to be one of these games.
What is Infinity, you might ask? Infinity is an upcoming massive multiplayer online game set in a persistent futuristic universe. In short it is an entire galaxy at your fingertips, for you to explore whether that be alone or with your friends. Sounds good? Sure do!
The idea is that you can seamlessly fly in your spacecraft from outer space and into the atmosphere of a planet and even fly down to the surface of the planet and land, and you can do all this without the need to wait hours for it to load. The planets will contain huge mountains and beautiful rivers and even cities or small settlements where the players can do missions and buy or sell goods. Now imagine thousands, no millions of these planets all around. You see all those small dots of stars on the image above? All of those small dots a each and their own star system which you can fly to and explore. Now you might have an image in your head of just how huge this universe is. It is incomprehensible massive, and the details and graphics are just amazing.
The images I have posted until now, is from the official tech trailer from the website. I highly recommend you go see it, because it is just amazing. You can find it here. Another video I highly recommend seeing, is the trailer showcasing the galaxy generator. The galaxy with all of its clusters of stars and planets are unbelievable and fantastically massive. You find that trailer here. Every dot you see in that trailer is a visitable star system with its own planet. Remember to watch both videos in HD!
The game is still in development and probably will be for a very long time. Until then I highly recommend to go to their website, where you will be able to watch all the trailers, view the beautiful screenshots and concept arts, read the latest news from the developers and sign up to the community forum where you can come with new ideas that the developers might incorporate into the game. No full demo is out yet, but they have released a small demo of the combat prototype, so head on to the website and begin downloading!

Wii 2 to be announced in June!

Wii 2 has not been officially announced by Nintendo just yet, but key executives have confirmed the development of the new console. Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said that they are preparing for the next hardware. There has been previous rumors that the announcement will take place at E3 2011, and that has now been confirmed. The E3 2011 is going to take place from 7. - 9. June in Los Angeles. The Wii 2 will feature HD, which missed from the original Wii, but you will still be able to use your old Wii games on the new Wii 2. Kotaku.com reportedly said that the console is going to be more powerful than the Playstation and Xbox 360. I am certainly going to be watching this story closer. Head off to Kotaku, IGN and Gameinformer for much more information.

New Blog Logo!

If you haven't already noticed I have changed the old and dull standard title and description out with my very own custom banner :)
It did take some time to make, but I'm very pleased with the final result! It is of course Super Mario, the Fox Hound logo from Metal Gear Solid and an M4 Assault Rifle that adorn the new title. I hope you enjoy it! You can expect many new updates on games in the near future.

Socom Special Forces Multiplayer Beta

The Multiplayer Beta Trial for the upcoming Socom Special Forces is now out on Playstation Network for you to download! Check it out if you haven't already, or if you are to lazy to download it yourself, I'll will give a quick sum up on it here :)
The download and installation didn't take long. Something you should notice is that this game supports playstation move. If you are like me and aren't that technically up-to-date, you can just play it with the normal PlayStation-Controller. I started up the game only to meet an update screen. It seemed like I would have to wait for it to download an 1500 MB update before I would be able to play. No worries. After a little waiting time I was finally able to start up the game and test it out.
I was quite excited to be honest. I had heard positive words of this beta, and was looking forward to try it out. As soon as I was in, I entered a quick match game. Well I tried to enter it, but a dull, and never ending loading screen made it impossible for me to enter any match. I did get a look on the arsenal of weapons though, and nothing was missing there. The game contains a large number of different weapons ranging from many assault rifles to shotguns and snipers. The review didn't proceed quite as I wanted it to, but I encourage any who reads this to download it yourself and try it out. It is out on the PSN right now for free.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

It is finally here! Well sort of...

So Bethesda published the news of the upcoming installment of the Elder Scrolls franchise, which is titled "Skyrim". Not suprisingly the game is going to take place in the region of Tamriel known as Skyrim, where fans familiar with the series will recognize as the place of origin of the race Nords.

The game is set two hundred years after Oblivion. The region of Skyrim has erupted into civil war and to makes matters worse, now dragons roam the land to. You take up the role of the last living Dovahkiin (Dragonborn) and must fend off Alduin and save Skyrim from total and utterly destruction. You are going to fight dragons! Yes, dragons!
It is set to be released november 11, 2011 (11.11.11) and I personally cannot wait! Expect many more updates on this particular title in the future!
